I agree that this is an appealing object. But I also think that a genuinely aristocratic instinct would be to boldly display the (undisguised) Tabasco sauce bottle. Protecting frail eyes from 'distasteful' objects smacks of a bourgeois sensibility, rather like referring to the toilet as the 'powder room' or 'passed away' instead of 'died.'
